Seasonal Venues

Close for the winter. Keep your wayfinding ready.

If your venue operates seasonally, you shouldn't have to pay full price during the months you're closed — and you shouldn't have to re-set up everything when you reopen. TapTheMap's seasonal hold keeps your system intact at a reduced rate so you're ready on day one of the new season.

How It Works

Your stickers stay live. Your map stays hosted. You pay less.

A seasonal hold is a reduced monthly rate that keeps everything in place while your venue is closed. When you're ready to reopen, your wayfinding is already working.

You tell us your schedule

Let us know which months your venue is closed, and we'll set up your seasonal hold dates. The hold applies automatically each year — no need to call or cancel. If your schedule changes, just let us know and we'll adjust.

Your system stays intact

During the hold, your map URL stays active, your NFC stickers remain functional, and your admin panel stays accessible. If a guest taps a sticker during the off-season, they'll still see your map — useful if your grounds remain open for walking trails, off-season events, or public access.

We prep you for reopening

Before each season, we'll check in to make sure everything is ready — verifying sticker condition, updating your map if the venue layout has changed, and confirming that analytics are active for opening day. The goal is to make sure your wayfinding is live and current the moment your first guests arrive.

You pay a fraction of the full rate

The seasonal hold fee is $19–$39/month depending on your tier — significantly less than your active monthly subscription. No re-setup fee when you come back. No interruption to your stickers or map URL.

What's Included

Everything that stays active during your hold

Map URL Active

Your venue's map URL continues to work. If anyone taps a sticker or visits the link directly during the off-season, your map loads normally.

NFC Stickers Functional

Your stickers remain programmed and active. No reprogramming, no replacements, no re-deployment when you reopen. They work the same as the day they were installed.

Admin Panel Access

Log in anytime to update your map, check version history, or prepare for the new season. The off-season is a great time to upload a refreshed map before opening day.

Pre-Season Readiness Check

Before your venue reopens, we'll verify that stickers are in good condition, your map is current, and analytics are live. You open your doors knowing wayfinding is already working.

No Re-Setup Fee

When your season starts, your billing returns to the active rate automatically. No new setup charge, no onboarding process, no lost time. You pick up exactly where you left off.

Email Support

Support doesn't pause when your venue does. Reach out anytime during the hold with questions about maps, stickers, or planning for the next season.

Built For

Venues that close part of the year

If your venue has a defined operating season, a seasonal hold is designed for you.

Outdoor venues — botanical gardens, arboretums, and nature centers that close for winter. Your stickers stay mounted on kiosks and trailheads through the off-season, ready for spring.

Seasonal attractions — pumpkin farms, holiday markets, corn mazes, summer festivals. You operate for a defined window each year, and the rest of the time the venue is closed or running a different operation.

Resort properties — ski lodges, lakefront resorts, summer camps. Your guest traffic is concentrated in one or two seasons, and paying full price year-round doesn't make sense.

Fair and festival grounds — state fairs, county fairgrounds, event complexes that host seasonal events but sit quiet the rest of the year.

Historic sites — outdoor museums, heritage farms, battlefield parks, and historic houses that are open April through October and closed through winter.

Custom schedules — your venue doesn't fit neatly into one of these categories? That's fine. We'll build a hold schedule that matches your actual calendar. Get in touch and we'll figure it out.
